Leo and Moritz
HEVOlogica is the story of a friendship that began in Sicily. A chance encounter in the summer of 2023, a tasting among old olive trees and a shared conviction turned into a joint project: HEVOlogica.
The encounter
How it all began
Moritz was looking for an olive oil he could give away with a clear conscience. During a holiday in Noto he met Leo through a mutual acquaintance.
Leo comes from a family rooted in local farming for generations. He inherited his passion for high-quality organic olive oil from his grandfather – and with it the knowledge of what matters at every single step.
The land
A deep bond with the land
Since 2019 Leo has farmed a seven-hectare plot in Noto to organic standards, home to around 600 olive trees, 400 almond trees and 30 carob trees – biodiversity in practice. On this land Leo keeps the tradition and culture of Sicilian farming alive.
The idea
Sustainability meets quality – a shared vision
Out of those first conversations between Leo and Moritz, the idea of building something together took shape quickly. At its heart stood the importance of acting sustainably in agriculture, combined with the aim of producing and offering products of the highest quality. This is how HEVOlogica's tree sponsorships came about. Through them we actively support sustainability, biodiversity and culture in Sicily.
The name
The story behind the name
HEVO stands for “High Quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil” and is a commitment to excellence and purity – our pledge to act sustainably and to offer products that unite the highest quality with organic standards.
logica stands for more than logic alone: for the “logic of the organic”. Treating nature gently and respectfully is, to us, the only sensible path.
Together they make HEVOlogica – a name that carries our conviction.
